Kimberly Sue (Mead) Nelson, 57, of Monrovia, was released of all earthly ailments and passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in Methodist Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis on February 28, 1962 to the late John Mead and Phyllis (Stotts) Mead.

Growing up in the comfort of a small-town life, Kim graduated with the class of 1980 from Monrovia High School. Throughout her life, Kim held several jobs, Blue Cross / Blue Shield, Indianapolis City County Building, Peekaboo Daycare, formally of Monrovia, then Puzzle Pieces of Hall. She was a substitute teacher and drove a bus for Monroe Gregg School Corporation. Kim's true passion was spending time with children and animals. She enjoyed showing 4-H pigs in high school and had two ponies she adored, Sugar and Pepper. A protective big sister, she always had her little brother's back.

Kim dated the love of her life and soul mate, Bill, for two years before marrying on May 6, 1989. The two settled into life together and started their family. An honest, kind, loving and dedicated mother, Kim went above and beyond to ensure her daughter, Valerie, met her potential. She bestowed the love of animals into Val, and the mother/daughter duo traveled the United States showing pigs nationally. Kim's annual favorite show was the NJSS held in Louisville, KY.

Kim is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Bill Nelson of Monrovia; daughter, Valerie Gott (husband, Justin) of Eminence; granddaughter, Brooklyn Gott; mother, Phyllis Mead, of Monrovia: brother, Kenny Mead (wife, Georgia); niece Macy Mead and nephew, Parker Mead of Monrovia.
