William "Rocky" Fields, age 69 of Mars Hill passed away at his home on Friday, November 19, 2021.
A native of Richmond County, NC, he was a son of the late Vern and Sarah Smith Schrader, also preceded in death by a sister, Lodi Henderson, and mother-in-law Alberta Toth.
Rocky was a member of Brookstone Church and former co-owner of the Retro Lube of Asheville and current co-owner in the Goldsboro Retro Lube. He was a true car buff and accomplished automobile paint and body professional, who enjoyed restoring and collecting antique cars.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Toth Fields; son, Christopher Fields (Stacey); grandchildren, Ashley (Abel), Jacob, David, and Lydia; great grandchildren, Stella and Nehemiah; father-in-law, Bill Toth; brother-in-law, Bill Toth; adopted son, Woods; sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Amy and Vicki; his partner in Retro Lube, Rick and Ani Best and his friend and right-hand man in restoring old cars, Sam.
A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverend Jim Dykes officiating.
