After graduating high school in Camden, NJ the family moved to Hampton Roads where Loretta completed nursing school at Riverside Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an RN. She worked at Riverside Hospital and later as a public health nurse. She went on to get her Pediatric Nurse Practitioners License from the University of Virginia. She worked many years on the neo-natal intensive care unit of the Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Norfolk, VA. She later returned to work for the State of VA Public Health Department, working in the areas of maternal child health and child safety.
Arrangements are being made by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home of Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Nov 21, 2021, at the Peninsula Memorial Cemetery in Newport News, VA at 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of life at Westminster Canterbury, 3100 Shore Drive in Virginia Beach from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Chapel.
