He is survived and missed by his wife Sally, his dog Annie, his brother and his sister-in- law, many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
John worked with and helped many youth in Toronto, at Thousand Islands Secondary school in Brockville and then later at Gananoque Secondary School.
Following this career John earned a marine Captain's license and worked for several boat lines in the area as well as the Georgian Clipper and the Empress Cruise Line. He was happiest on the water.
