Nellie Grace Johnson, age 88, of Taylor, MO, died on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. in Sunset Home.

She was born December 23, 1932 in Quincy, Illinois a daughter of Orris Vernon and Laura Mae Still Logsdon. On June 27, 1953 she married Cecil Albert Johnson in Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1992.

Nellie was a hard worker for all of her life, and she started work at a young age. In addition to farming with Cecil, she also worked at Motorola for many years. Nellie was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she was involved as a Sunday school teacher and as a caretaker in the nursery.

In her spare time, Nellie enjoyed working in her garden. She also spent time making clothes for her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.

Survivors include two daughters: Pamela Davis of Canton, MO; and Patti (Terry) Shelton of Jamestown, MO; six grandchildren: Christine (Kevin) Baker of Durham, MO; Melissa Shelton of Jamestown, MO; Melanie (Michael) Saxbury of Hannibal, MO: Jason Shelton of Jamestown, MO; Gary Davis of Quincy; and Douglas Shelton of Jamestown, MO;six great grandchildren: Kourtni and Kyli Baker; and Michaela, Cole, Amelia, and Hunter Saxbury; a brother: Ray Glen Logsdon of Rock Island, IL; and four sisters: Verna Mae Felker of Quincy, IL; Dorothy Darlene (Paul) Decker of Liberty, IL; Florence Marie (Ronald) Cantrell of Camp Point, IL; and Leona Ruth (Lowell) Mittleberg of Liberty, IL.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Johnson; her parents; two sisters: Mildred Ilene Hendricks and Lola Pauline Logsdon; and three brothers: Harold Eugene Logsdon, James Kenneth Logsdon, and Cletus Leroy Logsdon; her son-in-law, Gary Davis; and a great granddaughter, Lauren.

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Taylor, MO with the Rev. Wayne Manago officiating.

Visitation: there will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the service

Burial: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Taylor, Missouri.
