A lifelong Orange County resident, he was born in Chester on May 30, 1900 to Wicks S. and Mary K. Durland Board. He married the former Rosalie M. Mann.
Until retirement he had worked for 44 years for Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. as a substation foreman.
Mr. Board was a member of the Chester Presbyterian Church, a 60 year member of the Walton Engine and Hose Co. of the Chester Fire Department, a charter member of the Orange Blossom American Legion Post in Chester, a member of the Goshen Masonic Lodge, a member of the Chester Golden Age Club and a member of Local 503of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Wicks S. of Milford, Conn.; Clarence L. Jr. of Monroe and Stanley M. of Athol Springs, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Miriam Piranio of Warwick and Mrs. Mary B. Verbert of Chester; 14 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Conger Memorial Home, 20 Brookside Ave., Chester, with the Rev. Robert W. Hoag officiating. Burial was in Chester Cemetery, Chester.
