TRAVERSE CITY- Raymond A. Herman, 81, of Traverse City, passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005 at Munson Medical Center. Ray was born in Suttons Bay on August 31, 1924, the son of Robert and Ella (Steimel) Herman.
Ray was a long time Leelanau County cherry farmer and also worked for Prutsman Mirror Company for over 14 years, retiring in 1998. He served our country in the U. S. Army, proudly serving under General George Patton as a tank driver in World War II. Ray loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, gardening and puttering in the garage and yard. He also loved to reminisce with family and friends of the past. He we be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Pete, Bill and Walt; his uncle, Edmund Steimel; and his nephew, Robert Herman.
