Helen was born in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Franklin and Catherine (Capanna) Butz.
Helen was married to Robert F. Hart with whom she celebrated 51 years of loving marriage last December. She was a graduate of Easton Area High School, class of 1967; and received her Associates Degree in Accounting from Northampton County Community College in 1969. Helen was a self-employed accountant until retiring in 2008. She was an avid quilter and so generously made baby and wedding quilts for many family and friends. Her sewing room was filled with projects for her grandchildren as well. She made quilted purses, enjoyed crocheting, and was known for her amazing chocolate cake. Helen and Bob spent recent years visiting their young grandchildren who were the absolute light of her life. She endlessly gave of herself to her family and friends through her sewing, crafting, cooking, phone calls, visits to others, and hosting family gatherings.
In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by a son Thomas M. Hart of DuBois, PA; a daughter Deborah Hart DeGiovine and her wife Kristyn DeGiovine of Allentown; grandchildren Sarah, Zachary, Damien, Tyrus, Drayven, Phoenix and Mila.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com.
