She was born in East Alton, Illinois, to William Frederick and Maude (Campbell) Hassman. She married Robert Isaac Eggleston Sr. on May 2, 1932, in Deming, N.M. She moved from Illinois to New Mexico and lived there from 1916 until 1978. She then moved to Haywood, Oklahoma in 1979, and lived there until her death. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. She passed away at the age of 99 at her home near Haywood. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Chester, Frederick and Sam Hassman, and three sisters, Helen Stroud, Carmen Harris and Maude Harris.
