Randy Michael McCullough
October 12, 1948 - November 18, 2021

Randy Michael McCullough, 73, of Fayetteville entered peacefully into the Lord's rest on November 18, 2021, surrounded by his family and dear friends. He was born in Villa Rica on October 12, 1948, to the late Laverne and Peggy McCullough.

Randy's legacy is a life of service, first to his country in the United States Navy, but most importantly to Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher throughout his life. A scholar of the Bible, he loved "going deep" into the Hebrew and Greek and bringing insights from his studies to his Sunday School class.

A devoted family man, Randy is survived by his wife and constant companion of 52 years, Paula McCullough; daughters Tracy, Karri, and Sandy; grandchildren Breanna, Keslie, Bennett and Everett, and brother Dennis (Joyce). He fulfilled Christ's admonition to husbands to "love their wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it." (Ephesians 5:25) There is simply nothing "Pappy" wouldn't do for his family and demonstrated that through countless hours of driving the kids and grandkids around, attending their every activity, and praying with his wife for the salvation and faithfulness of his descendants.

Randy was an avid sportsman, spending his leisure time hunting deer, bass fishing, and playing golf. In retirement, he spent hours in his man cave using a tabletop magnifying glass to make the tiniest and most intricate fishing flies. He made sure his daughters and grandkids learned how to bait a hook and throw a line. Pappy was known for his dry sense of humor, always looking for an opportunity to tease. His favorite t-shirts reflected that sense of humor with phrases like, "My boat, my rules", "Sarcasm. Just one of my many talents", and "I'm not lazy. I just really enjoy doing nothing." He never tired of watching NCIS reruns in his recliner.

Recently, when asked what he would like to be famous for, Randy said being faithful, someone you can count on and depend on. He fulfilled that without question. As loved one and friends gathered in his final hours, the most frequently shared remembrances were faithfulness, servant, and dependable. What a blessing to have come to the end of his days on earth leaving a legacy that reflected his values.

"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Matthew 25:23

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Interment and graveside service will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
