Veronica Diana Bell, age 77, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. She fought a valiant fight against Lewy Body Dementia, but she never let it slow her down or stop her beautiful smile. Ms. Bell was born a Valentine baby on February 14, 1944, in Hillside, New Jersey, to the late Olga Hnyda. She was blessed with wonderful grandparents, Michael and Nanastasia Hnyda, who helped raise her. Ms. Bell, affectionately known as Mama and Granny, married her true love, Cary F. Bell, and they moved their family to Perry, FL in 1961. In 1972, they relocated to Wellborn, FL, until she made Lake City her home in 1992.
She raised five children before starting a career in Aeronautics with TIMCO in the early 1980s as a tank sealer and then an aircraft mechanic before retiring in 2008. She was well known as the "Little Avon Lady" for over 25 years. Ms. Bell was a true lady with a heart of gold and would help anyone. She loved to cook, shop, watch soap operas, tend to her cats and dogs, and loved to make folks laugh - she had a great sense of humor and was always smiling. Her greatest love was family. She is deeply loved and will be missed immensely.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Cary F. Bell; her son, William F. Bell and Grandparents.
Ms. Bell is survived by her children, Kathleen Bell, Barbara (Chris) Poore, Roger Bart Bell, and John C. (Amy) Bell, sisters, Rosemary Allen and JoAnne (Mark) Brissett; brother, Michael (Nancy) Hnyda; grandchildren, Joseph (Crystal) Phillips, Christina (Toby) Phillips, Celena (Patrick) Bell, Catherine Bell, Bart Bell, Jr., Kayla (Marvin) Bell, Derrick Baxter, Taylor, Amanda and Cyler (Danielle) Craig, Bryant (Ashlee) Ingraham; great grandchildren, Kimber and Logan Phillips, Evelyn Garrett, Ella Bozeman, Kameron Orange, Selena, Truly, and Fisher Cruz, Jett, Maddux, Hudson and Ava Kate Ingraham, Harper, Alivia and Violet Craig, Maegan, Chandler and Christopher Poore, and Easton Bozeman (expected arrival 12/31/2021); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and "adopted" grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ms. Bell's Life will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Dees Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
