Bruce grew up in Scotland and work for the railroad. After he married Muriel Urquhart on March 20, 1948, they moved to the United States in 1949 and homesteaded in Kentucky. Bruce worked in the maintenance department in a warehouse. He was an accomplished carpenter and could fix anything. He moved to Manter in 2002 to be close to family.
Bruce is survived by his nephew, David Smith and wife Lana of Manter, niece, Ray Reid of Forfar, Scotland, and nephew, Alan Forbes of Forfar, Scotland.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Muriel; two brothers, one sister, and nephew, Bruce Smith.
