Roche died Monday (June 19, 1995) in the Campbell Hall nursing home in Orange County after a long illness. He was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse.
Roche taught English at Grover Cleveland, Kensington and McKinley high schools between 1935 and 1943. He then worked as a training consultant to industry and government.
Surviving are his wife, Jude Jewell of Warwick; four sons, John A. of Lackawanna, Patrick E. of Buffalo; Michael E. of Monroe, Conn., and David of Brooklyn; five daughters, Ann Hurley of Tucson, Ariz.; Kathleen Olds of Hamburg, and Maggie, Terree and Suzzy, all of New York City. He is also survived by a sister, Grace O'Mara; and a brother, the Rev. David V., both of the Warwick area.
