Mary Cornelia Reynolds Carson, 94, of Spout Spring, received her call to heaven on November 18, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Edward Carson for 75 years.
Born on October 10, 1927, in Lynchburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther Elbert Reynolds and Mattie Sue Harris Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Randall Carson; three brothers, W. Harry Reynolds, William D. Reynolds, and Albert "Kit" Reynolds; and two sisters, Viola R. O'Brien and Dorothy R. Mund.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Joyce Carson Sauls and husband, Barry of Spout Spring; two grandchildren, Barry Ward Sauls and wife, Krista of Zionsville, PA, and Chantel Carson Sauls Elder and husband, David of Appomattox; one great- grandchild, Brianna Faith Elder of Appomattox; a sister, Jeannette R. Garrett of Lynchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church, Spout Spring and was employed at Amelia Dress Company before retiring. Cornelia enjoyed growing and preserving vegetables and keeping her house and yard immaculate.
The family would especially like to thank Taylor of Appomattox Adult Health Care Services and Rachel and Renae of Centra Hospice for the loving care they provided to Mom and our family.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Wimpy Martin and Rev. David Torrence will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Victory Baptist Church in Old Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, Spout Spring.
