David D. "Lefty" Snyder of Havertown, Pa. passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on November 15, 2021 in the presence of his family. He was 63 years old. Lefty is the beloved husband of Colleen A. (nee McGuigan) Snyder. He is the loving father of Patrick, Olivia, and Alex Snyder. He is also the brother of Susan (Jan) Stefanski, Thomas Snyder, John (Patty) Snyder, Donna (Bill) McCoy, Theresa (Linda Stanley) Snyder, Mary Grace (Steve) Brown, and the late Bernadette Snyder. He is the brother in law of Jay (Sandy) McGuigan, and Kevin McGuigan. Lefty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
David was born in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas P.E. and Theresa R. (nee McColgan) Snyder. The family settled in the Ardmore section of Haverford township. Lefty is a graduate of St. Denis Elementary School in Havertown and Archbishop John Carroll High School (Class of '76) in Radnor, Pa.. Lefty continued his education by attending Millersville University. He was employed in sales in the Home Healthcare industry for a period of time. He was working for a construction firm for several years prior to his illness and he was also the Sacristan at St. Denis Church for a few years which gave him great joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm and Monday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am both in The Funeral Home of John Stretch 236 East Eagle Road Havertown, Pa. 19083 and also to his Mass of Christian Burial following Monday at 11 am in St. Denis Church 2401 St. Denis Lane Havertown, Pa. 19083. The interment will be in St. Denis Cemetery at a later date.
