She was born April 23, 1943 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Fred Milton Catron and Ruby Grubb Catron. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Fred M. Catron, Jr.
Connie was a graduate of Rural Retreat High School, Class of 1961. She then graduated 1965 from Radford University. In 1976, she earned her Master's Degree in English at Radford University. Connie proudly served as a school teacher with Wythe County Public Schools for 37 years as a high school English teacher at GWHS. She was a loving wife, mother and devoted grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Brent Moore, Jr; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Etthan Miller; son, Brent Moore, III all of Wytheville; two grandchildren, Jacob Deane and Mackenzie of Winchester, VA and Ethan Dean of Wytheville, two step-grandchildren, Lauren Miller Boothe and Chris of Kernersville, NC, and Eden Miller of Wytheville, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at St. John's Episcopal Church.
