She was born June 24, 1943 in Hamlin, WV the daughter of the late Roy Brown and Virginia Brown Plumley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Emory Matt Adkins and Paul McClure, step-father, Elbie Plumley, sister, Susan Marie Plumley, Brother, George Kelly Plumley, nephew, Jeffery Plumley, and her in-laws, Okey and Shirley Adkins.
Sarah enjoyed sewing, visiting, teaching for church, watching westerns, gardening and chickens. She also enjoyed playing with her great granddaughter Cheyenne and eating Three Musketeers.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Ruth Ann Billups, Joyce McClure Skipper, Ellen McClure Dotson; three sons, Larry A. "Sike" Adkins, Walter McClure and Okey McClure; one sister, Tillie Sue Plumley (Harold); one brother, Melvin Plumley (Angela); four grandchildren, Thomas Matthew Billups, Leslie Ann Hardbarger, Lois Ann Adkins and Cody Gillenwater; grand son-in-law, James Hardbarger; three great-grandchildren, PVT Allen J. Hardbarger, Emory Ryan Hardbarger and Cheyanne Nicole Hardbarger; fourteen step-grandchildren, Ada McClure, Crystal Dotson, Cecil Dotson, Kennith Dotson, Curtis Skipper, Darrell Miller, Matt Miller, Charles Miller, Chris Miller, Jason Clay, Zach Skipper, Brian Skipper, Anna Dixon and Olivia Skipper; and her special friends, Lois Ferrell, Bonnie Hill, Rex & Kim Stanley and James & Nola Hardbarger.
Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with President Eddie Toney and Bishop Joseph Justice officiating. Burial will follow at the Pea Ridge Cemetery, Leet, WV.
Friends may call Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
