Obituary for Rodney Bruce Roberts

Rodney Bruce Roberts, 64 of Inwood passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Born May 17, 1957 in Martinsburg, he is the son of Alecia DeHaven Roberts and the late Henry Bruce Roberts.

He was a 1975 graduate of Martinsburg High School, attended WVU and Shepherd University. He retired from Monumental Life Insurance Company and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Ann Mauck Roberts of 29 years; brother Brian Roberts and girlfriend Sue Gibson; mother-in-law, Margaret Mauck of Inwood; aunt Ann Roberts Brunk Wheaton, MD; cousins Craig Peyton and wife Wanda and family, Hedgesville, WV; Tracey Peyton and wife Debbie and family, Hagerstown, MD; Jill Miller and fiancé Bruce Fowler and family, Martinsburg, WV; Robin Barber and husband John and family, Martinsburg, WV; Wayne Brunk and wife Sandy and family, Gaithersburg, MD; Michael Brunk, Wheaton, MD. Rod was also survived by many second cousins and friends who loved him very much.

He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing with family and friends, loved to hunt with his buddies and an avid golfer. He coached softball at Lockheed for 3 years and Church of God softball team for 10 years. Rod also was a Special Olympics volunteer. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to the Window Fund at Calvary United Methodist Church, 220 W. Burke Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401 or a charity of ones choice.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:30 p.m.at Rosedale Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Wilson officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The family ask that you wear mask and social distance for the safety of all.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Hospice of the Panhandle.
