Dixie was a graduate of Yorktown High School and Ball State University, where she received bachelor's and master's degrees in education. She was a teacher, farmer, and homemaker.
Dixie was the loving mother to Andrew Brown and Debra (Howard Huckleberry) Steinhauer, who both survive. She is also survived by her sister, Janet (Von) Milleman, and many nieces and nephews. Dixie was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard (Virginia) Pugsley and Bruce Pugsley.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2021, at Union Cemetery, 16301 N State Road 3 in Eaton, Indiana with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Dixie asks that you focus your time and energy on being good to each other. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
