He was born January 28, 1947 to Mary and Jim Michaels in Des Moines.
Bob worked at John Deere until retirement. He also worked for the Police Reserves of Des Moines on weekends and had a paint business.
He won several weight lifting and power lifting competitions as well.
Bob was called to ministry in the 1970's and pastored at the South Side Assembly of God for many years. He was known to preach and provide counsel to anyone he befriended. His love for the Lord was evident. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim; mother, Mary; and a sister, Theresa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona with burial to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., also at the funeral home.
