Born in Kingston, Jamaica on October 25, 1933, one of seven children born to Lancelot and Irene (Roberts) Morris. Raised and educated in Jamaica, Monica migrated to New York in 1952. Shortly upon arrival, in 1953, Monica married the love of her life, Sydney White. They settled in Bronx, New York where they had their family and Monica continued her work as a nurse's aide.
Monica retired and moved to Miramar, Florida in 1990, she enjoyed gardening and had a special fondness for animals. She will be sorely missed by her loving family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her husband, Sydney White, survivors include her daughter, Carol Ingram and her husband Newton Ingram, son, Baron White and his wife Nancy White, granddaughter, Karen Cacho, two sisters, Ethel Evans and Delores McKellar and Barrington Clark.
Visitation on Thursday, March 28th from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street Hollywood. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Luis Acosta officiating. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Entombment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3001 North 72nd Avenue in Hollywood.
