A Celebration of Life for Margaret Eloise Parks will take place on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Edmond, Oklahoma. Inurnment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma, at 2:00 PM.
Margaret Eloise Parks was born August 4, 1925, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to James Daniel Kezer and Jeannetta Laura (Brook) Kezer. She passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at 96.
Margaret was a longtime resident of Okemah, Oklahoma, and more recently, Prague and Edmond, Oklahoma. She graduated from Okemah High School in 1943. She later attended several universities and graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from OCU.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Dr. Dayton Rose, Bill Bannister, and James Parks; three brothers, John Daniel Kezer, Claude Dean Kezer, and Glenn Brook Kezer; two sisters, Martha Gene Meredith and Eva Mae "Judy" Williams and step-son, Jim Parks.
Survivors include her two sons, David B. Rose and wife Anna-Faye of Oklahoma City and Dayton Morrison Rose of Shawnee; four daughters, Jenny Cody-Knopp and husband George of Edmond, Jeannene Bannister Bernard of Austin, Texas, Terra Bannister McMinn of Austin and Mary Margaret Reilly Greene of Fairview, Texas; Step-sons, Bob Reilly and wife Connie of Okemah and Joe Parks and wife Shari of Ashville, North Carolina; Janet Parks of Prague; seven grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Cody, Kyle Dayton Cody, Dayton B. Rose, Robert McMinn, Shawn Bernard, Scott Bernard, and Morgan Bernard; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron W. Cody, Peyton L. Cody, Gavin D. Cody, Jordan B. Rose, Alyssa Bernard, Shamus Bernard, Sheyanne Bernard, and two great-great-grandchildren, Braylee R. Cody and Lottie J. Bernard, nine step-grandchildren, Shannon, Tony, Amy, Robert, John, Leslie, Becky, Jade, and Kash; and nine step-great-grandchildren, Reilly, Ryan, Reagan, McKenzie, Ella, Jase, Hudson, Vincent, and London.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Women of Edmond UMC, Prague UMC, or St. Paul's UMC in Okemah.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma, and officiated by Rev. Scott Kenneda.
