He was a member of The River at Tampa Bay Church, a retired Chief Master Sergeant for the United States Air Force, and was currently employed with Union Contractors in Plant City. He was a graduate of the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Accounting. He was a Ford man, enjoyed NASCAR racing, tinkering on cars, and reading, and was an avid fan of the NFL.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy "Dot" Bond; and infant son, William Terrance Bond. He is survived by daughters, Leslie Lane (Donald) of Timberlake, North Carolina, Lori Zeigler of Plant City, and Sharon Bond (Keith Smith) of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Joshua Berryhill (Karen), John Phelps (Christina), Jessica McClellan (Leon), Lindsay Rogers, Lauren Herndon, Lance Kennedy, Lana Stapp (Perren), and Hope King; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1.5 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service with military honors will be held Saturday, November 20 at 3:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 South County Road 39, Plant City, where the family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 P.M.
