Joseph Edmund Faucher, PHD, of Manchester formerly of East Hartford entered into the Lord's embrace and was called home on August 25, 2021, after years of declining health. Beloved and Cherished husband of Rita Marie (Rouleau) Faucher. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, loving son of the late Edward and Jeanne (Lalone) Faucher. He attended local schools and obtained a Bachelor's of science degree in Chemical Engineering and a PHD in Chemical Engineering Combustion at Worcester Polytechnical Institute. Joseph worked 30 years at Pratt & Whitney, 15 years in the Engineering Division and 15 years in the Manufacturing Division. When he retired he had 5 patents, 7 technical publications, NASA Award for Inventive Design and Manufacturing Method for a rocket engine nozzle, a Corporate Award for Outstanding Contributions to Advancement of Science and Technology. He was an avid skier and immensely enjoyed traveling the world with his bride Rita. He played guitar for a folk group at his former church and for Catholic TV masses. He was a devoted member of the Parish of St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Bridget's Church in Manchester, Ct. Joseph is predeceased by his son Jeffrey Faucher, his sister Jeanne Manning and he leaves behind his brother, Roland Faucher. He also leaves behind his children Joseph and Michelle, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members. Joseph was a gentle, loving, caring and generous soul who was always quick to help all those in need. He will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday September 8, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Bridget's Church 80 Main St. Manchester, CT. 06042 followed by Committal services in the family plot at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery Bloomfield, CT. Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, CT. 06108 are assisting the family with arrangements.
