Lois Jean Harris passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on November 15, 2021 at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, Illinois.
Lois was born July 9, 1940 in Wayne County to Ed and Marjorie (Wells) Isle. Lois grew up in Fairfield until she married Leland H. Harris on July 11, 1963, they moved to Rockford to raise their 5 children. Lois worked at Froberg Elementary School and was a den mother for boy scouts and girl scouts. After moving home to Fairfield she worked as a cook for many years at Bat's Place and the Uptown Restaurant. Later she worked for Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Wayfair and private home health care. In retirement, she worked at New World Restaurant. Lois had a passion for sewing and embroidery. Her favorite hobby was spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Leland H. Harris who passed on July 12, 2019, her son Leland Harris Jr., her parents Ed and Marjorie Isle, her sisters Mary Waigon and Doris Isle, her brother Carl Isle, her son in law Earnie Hampton and her great grandson Axten David Waldrop.
She is survived by her children Diana Hampton, Arne Harris, William and Becky Harris all of Fairfield, Mike and Katharine (Vaughan) Tondini of Jacksonville, Florida, her grandkids Beth, Jonathan, Junior, Andy, Justton, Kelley, William, and Myka, her great grandchildren Dariean, Jayden, Christopher, Raya, Hunter, Tyler, Liam, Ally, Dane, Seth, Benny, Brantley and Mia.
Graveside services for Lois Harris will be held Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Richland Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.nalesfuneralhome.com. Nale's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
