Kathy Jean Benett, 60 of Hinton, W. Va. was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Norma Kay Moore. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathy grew up in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Louisville, Ky. before spending most of her adult life in Hinton. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Bluefield State College in 1992. During her career, Kathy worked at Summers County ARH as well as Raleigh General Hospital, CAMC, and Beckley ARH. She loved her work, especially the years that she spent caring for surgical patients as an operating room nurse. Kathy nursed patients until the day she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. She always gave the best of herself to others. Kathy enjoyed researching family genealogy, travelling to historical landmarks, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and Gary attended Central Baptist Church, where Kathy's father pastored for many years. In addtion to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee Moore, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Gary Ray Bennett; six children including Erin & Brian Angell, Nathan & Anastasia Eerenberg, Brian & Jennifer Eerenberg, Timothy & Sheri Eerenberg, Joshua and Rachael Eerenberg, and Rebecca & Jeffrey McLaughlin; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, John and Joy Moore; and four sisters, Peggy & Don Paul, Connie Moore, Jennifer & Tim Moran, and Beth & Jason Malczewski. Burial in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton.
