Bonnie Ruth Payne, age 74 of Decherd, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at her residence. She was born January 19, 1947 in Sewanee, TN to the late Jesse Maxwell and Viola Smith Hill. Bonnie had been employed as a lunch lady in the Franklin County School System for 15 years and was a devout Christian. She will be remembered as a very sweet lady who loved to cook, read, shop, and spend time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Payne, Sr. and son-in-law, Tim Lewis. She is survived by her children, Clyde Payne, Jr. and Barbara Lewis; grandchildren, Dakota Lewis, Jesse (Amy) Lewis and Brittany Lewis; great-grandchildren, Abby Reed, Bryer Reed, Hunter Lewis and Rylan Reed; and her beloved dog, Sophie. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, November 19, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with burial following at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
