Rock Hill, SC – David Curtis Jordan, 78, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 6:51am on Sunday Morning, November 14, 2021.
A memorial service will be at 2:30pm Saturday, November, 20, 2021 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1300 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service at the church.
Burial will be "private family only" at Forest Hills Cemetery, Rock Hill.
A successful business man, business owner, entrepreneur, and successful pastor, David had many gifts. Yet what he did for a living is not what we are missing today…
From his family's perspective, David deeply loved God and consistently reflected the Lord's glory to us. He was always in God's Word and taught it and lived it to all he met. He was a compassionate counselor, wise pastor, and loyal friend to so many over the years. He was a man of deep integrity who always sought to say the truth in love. David was a great story teller. He also had a contagious sense of humor that kept us all laughing. He was a calming presence in our lives. He had the spiritual gifts of encouragement and wisdom and always knew "what to say and how to say it" in challenging situations. There was a Christlike kindness at the center of David's personality that was amazing. He loved the beach and cherished his family vacations. A front porch rocking chair at a beach house overlooking the ocean always led to hours of family joy with our father. We loved him and now love him from a distance as we look forward in hope to our reunion with him soon in glory. "Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep."
David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol McWhorter Jordan; his mother, Frances Jordan; his sons, Barrett Jordan and his wife, Judy of Teays Valley, WV and Tim Jordan and his wife, Nicole, of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, he loved and prayed for so much, Alley, Jeremiah, Carly, Grayson, Brennan and Owen Jordan.
