Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Burr Alan Childers and Sally Bell Blaine Childers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy Welch and a granddaughter, Christina Sutton. Jean was a real estate broker; member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and antiques.
She is survived by three children, Pamela Ibaugh (Bill) of Franklin, Alan Sutton (Linda) of Woodstock, GA and James Barden (Darlene) of Cudahy, WI; five grandchildren, Samantha Charles, James Barden, Jr., Cody Barden, Paul Sutton and Daylon Hurst and one great granddaughter, Kiara Carroll.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
