Dorothy Marie Foster
November 12, 2021:

Dorothy Marie Foster, age 92, of Auxvasse, Missouri passed away November 13, 2021.

Dorothy Marie was born December 26, 1928, in Fulton, Missouri, the only daughter of Jewell Willard and Gladys (Condray) Russell.

Marie graduated from Fulton High School in 1947 and was Co-Valedictorian of her class. After graduation, Marie attended William Woods College until she put her education on hold to concentrate on her family. She resumed her education at University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri where she graduated with honors, Cum Laude and received her Bachelor's Degree in education in 1971.

Marie was a lifelong advocate of education and thoughly enjoyed helping her kids and grandkids with their school work.

No doubt Marie will arrive in Heaven singing. The Russells were a musical family and music was a passion of Maries as well. She always had a song in her heart and sang or hummed through the day. Her children started their day at the breakfast table listening to Marie singing along to the music on Ron and Betty Sue's radio show. To their chagrin many days they also caught themselves humming her songs throughout the day.

Marie married William "Bo" Foster and she was blessed with what she called her greatest achievement, her five children. She lived her entire life in Missouri and resided fifty years at the Foster family home in Auxvasse, Missouri. After raising her children she started a new phase of her career by earning her real estate license and spent many years working with Miller Real Estate. She also spent several years working as a administrative assistant for the Dean of Westminster, for Chamber of Commerce and Columbia Regional Hospital.

Marie loved the ourdoor and would sit in her living room reading and watching the birds. Marie loved to visit with her family on day trips or to visit other countries. She always said yes to going out to dance..

Dorothy is survived by her five children, Lena Suzette Foster, Charles Stephen Foster, Jay Russell Foster, Lynn Marie Foster Wilson, Stanley Garrett Foster; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Marie will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, Willard and Gladys Russell; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Marcell Russell, Joe Russell (Betty) and Maurice Russell (June); grandsons, Justin Foster and Hunter Foster.

A family memorial service will be planned at a later date. For those who would like to say good-bye to Marie, she will be intered at the Foster Family plot in Auxvasse Cemetery.
