Joe was born on February 20, 1949, in Hollis, Oklahoma to A.W. "Buddy" Burch and Edith Burch. He was raised and educated primarily in Van, Texas. Joe graduated from Van High School in 1967 and Tyler Junior College. Shortly after moving back to Hollis, he met Lu who sold him a truck at David Rath Chevy. It was love at first sight. Lu and Joe were united in marriage on August 15, 1981, at Hollis First Baptist Church.
Joe worked as a bricklayer, a tour bus driver, and a commercial driver. He loved to travel and drive. He greatly enjoyed being a tour bus driver because it combined two of his favorite things: joking with people and driving. Joe was a long-standing member of Hollis First Baptist Church and loved his church greatly. Joe had a passion for hunting and fishing, and when he wasn't hunting or fishing, he was dreaming about hunting and fishing. Joe was always happy and had a zest for life and could tell the best jokes that would put a smile to the most serious of faces. He was also a child at heart, never allowing the stresses of the world to bother him. He was always trying to invite his family over to the house so Lu would make his favorite foods.
Of all the things in this world, he loved his family the most, especially his wife Lu.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; A.W. "Buddy" Burch and Edith Burch; a Son; Tracy Lynn Burch; Great Grandchild; Kashlyn Lane Noble.
