Eglon — Charles Woodrow Gordon, 70, of Eglon, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, Md.
Born June 17, 1951, in Bayard, he was a son of the late James and Mary (Neel) Gordon.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry Gordon and one sister, Dianna Bittinger.
Charles worked at Bausch & Lomb for 25 years as well as L. Gregory & Sons Woodworking as a woodworker. He was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren. Charles enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and taking his grandsons on tractor rides.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Slaubaugh) Gordon; one son, Jamie Gordon (Kathy Rhodes), Thomas; one daughter, Stacey Whitehair (Shane), Oakland; one brother, James A. Gordon (Tammy), Oakland; brother-in-law, Roger Bittinger, Swanton Md.; and two grandsons, Landon and Ryan Whitehair.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
A service will be held at Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1101 Fairview Church Rd., Oakland, Friday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ron Gordon and Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
