Roberto José López of Santa Fé, New Mexico was born on February 6, 1951.
Roberto passed away on Tuesday morning, November 9, 2021 after a courageous ten year battle with cancer.
Roberto was born in Santa Fé, NM and spent his childhood there.
In the late 1960s Robert moved to Albuquerque, NM. Roberto married his soul mate and love of his life, Angelina Yolanda López. They married February 2, 1970. They were blessed to be married for 51 years.
Everyone who knew dad knew that he was a straight shooter and a God fearing man.
Roberto was a graduate from the University of Albuquerque in 1982 were he received a bachelor's degree in architect. Roberto designed the Victory Love Church in Albuquerque.
Roberto was a local business owner. Roberto had a detail shop in the late 1980s. A trucking company RJL Trucking from 1990 until 1998.
Roberto taught his son, Robert Jr. how to drive tractor trailers and get his CDL. Robert Jr. was blessed to be a part of the trucking business. Roberto had a contract with Borden Dairies. Roberto would donate dairy products and his time to sister, Genevieve with the St. Felix pantry in Rio Rancho, NM. Roberto also had a contract with Fleming Foods out of El Paso, Texas. His company ran groceries to FURR's Supermarkets throughout New Mexico.
Roberto also had a contract with Western Mobile Aggregate products of New Mexico, which paved many interstates in New Mexico and Arizona.
Roberto also had two produce stores. One was located at Five Points in southwest Albuquerque and the other Coors and Corona NW. "The Garden Spot."
Roberto is survived by his loving wife, Angelina Yolanda López,his children, Robert López Jr. and his wife, Maryann López, of Albuquerque, Christine Baca of Albuquerque and Mark López, of Albuquerque, his grandchildren, Joshua López, Bobby López, Mark López Jr., Felisha Baca and her boyfriend, Joe, Julian Baca, Brianna Baca and her boyfriend, all of Albuquerque and his great-grandchildren, Robert López, Noel, Zayden, Elijah and Skylaar. Roberto is also survived by his sisters, Louella Martínez of Albuquerque and Veronica Jaramillo and her husband, Robert Jaramillo, of Albuquerque. Roberto is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Roberto was preceded in death by his much adored mother, Josie López and father, Armando Amado López, his siblings, Jerry López, Junior López, Leroy, Phillip López and Mary Mora and his great-grandchildren, Robert López III and Marisa Baca.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 23,2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strong - Thorne located at 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A service will be held at Strong - Thorne on Wednesday November 24, 2021 from 11:00 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. Then dad will be laid to rest right after the service on November 24, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemtery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
