James Carl Bland, 77, of Maynard passed from this life on November 14, 2021. Carl was born to the late James Lewis and Bessie Jean Barber Bland on July 26, 1944, in the Richardson Community. He was united in marriage to Linda Watson Bland on November 28, 1965.

Carl had a long life of farming and hunting and enjoyed the many fish frys with his family. He loved teaching the Bible at Elmont Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dickie Ray Bland, and sister Helen Faye Sullinger.

Carl is survived by his wife Linda of the home; children Starla (Tony) Saylors of Pocahontas, Scott (Sherry) Bland of Maynard and Anna (Jamie) Flanery of Pocahontas; grandchildren Tony Lee Saylors II, Holden (Paige) Saylors, Elizabeth Bland, Kristen Saylors, Linda (Brian) Anderson, Nikki Flanery, Nathan Flanery, Caleb Flanery; great grandchildren Kathryn, Chole, Tony Lee, Grayson, Tegan, Drake, Tessa Lynn and Easton; sisters Betty Late, Mary Watson, Susie Matlock all from Maynard, brother Steve Bland of Reyno.

Visitation will be held 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Thursday November 18, 2021, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday November 18, 2021, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Jamie Flanery, Scott Bland and Gary Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Tony Saylors II, Holden Saylors, Brian Anderson, Nathan Flanery, Caleb Flanery and David Webb.

Honorary pallbearers include Steve Bland, Jim Late, Richard Bland, Mike Johns, Dickey Ray Bland, and Shane Bland.
