Funeral services for Mr. Glenn Joseph Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18th, 2021 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA. with Father Dan O'Connor officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Cushman Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, LA.

Mr. Smith, 61, of Marksville, LA., passed from this life on Friday, November 12th, 2021 at his residence.

He proudly served our country with his service in the United States Air Force, and Louisiana National Guard. He also had a passion for music and performing arts. He enjoyed managing and performing at the local Fox Theatre for several seasons. "Bubs", as he was lovingly known, was a "jack of all trades" and enjoyed working with his hands and building several projects. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. His grandkids meant the world to him and "Popi" spent every second he could with them. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man, soldier, artist, and friend that will never be replaced.

Mr. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Holmes John Jr. and Rita Mae Bordelon Smith.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 38 years, Dorianne "Dee" DeFreitas Smith; son, Matthew John Smith (Sarah) of Marksville, La.; daughter, Heather Lachney (Jeremy) of Effie, La.; brother, Scott Joseph Smith (Michele) of Bunkie, La.; sisters, Mona Smith and Vicky Smith both of Marksville, La.; niece, Casey DeFreitas (John) of Coco Beach, FL.; nephew, Douglas Smith of Cottonport, La.; great nephew, Layton Smith of Cottonport, La.; five grandchildren, Kylee Smith, Madison Lachney, Reagan Lachney, Khloe Dillard, and Tobe Smith. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA.
