Son of George Patillo Williams, Sr. and Lille Mae Strickland Williams. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed horses and tending to his animals at his "goat pen." He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George P Williams, Jr.; and sister, Myra Ann Mainor. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maxine Williams; son, Gordon M (Tjuana W) Williams; two daughters, Wanda (Gene) Harrell and Cindy (Jason Sheffield) Williams; two grandchildren, Holly (Jeremy) Scarborough and Drew Harrell; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jackson Scarborough.
