Anne M. Ward, 98, Anne died peacefully at her home in White Salmon, Wash., on April 17, 2021. Anna Emielia Otillie Markgraf was born on July 4, 1922 at Panakanic, in Klickitat County, Wash. She was eighth of nine children born to Charles and LuDell (Bertschi) Markgraf. Anne married George Henry Ward on Dec. 22, 1946. Anne is survived by her two daughters, Karen, of Washington, and Barbara; grandchildren Rebecca and Benjamin; and one great-granddaughter, Manon Opal, all of Wellington, New Zealand. Anne is known as a local historian and for having done extensive research into the ancestry and history of Klickitat County.
