Sgt. Samuel E. Kelsey of Troup, Texas was a 2001 Troup High School graduate where he was part of an active, tight-knit class that still remain close. While there he was actively involved in sports. Samuel had served in the army for five years where he was a squadron leader and had earned the rank of sergeant. The only child was currently on his second tour in Iraq. Samuel died heroically, trying to save another soldier in his unit at age 24.
