Claire L. Moss (nee Lilley), 76, of Amherst and a long-time resident of Elyria, departed this life Friday, October 23, 2015, at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a long battle with lymphoma. She was born September 17, 1939 in Meadville , Pennsylvania and moved with her family to Elyria as a teenager, graduating from Elyria High School in 1957.

Claire was a member of Upper Steer Run Missionary Baptist Church in Normantown , West Virginia and attended Midway Baptist Church in Elyria for several years. Primarily a homemaker throughout her life, she also worked at various times for area employers including Ridge Tool and Lake Avenue Floor Covering. She loved vacationing with her husband, Wayne and enjoyed many wonderful simple pleasures throughout her life, including playing cards, listening to music and spending time in the company of family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Moss of South Amherst and Daniel (and her beloved daughter-in-law, Kelli) Moss of Amherst; grandsons, Nathan Moss and James Moss of Amherst and several cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Moss; her mother, Genevieve Piekutowski; father, John Paul Lilley; sisters, Jean Chismar and Carolyn Steele and stepfather, Stanley Piekutowski.

Friends and family may call Tuesday, October 27, 2015, from 5 until 8 P.M., at Midway Baptist Church , 41812 Griswold Rd. , Elyria , where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11 A.M. Pastor Rick Keesee will officiate. Burial will be private in the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery , Grafton.

Arrangements are being handled by the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St. , Grafton.
