Peggy Fischer Perry Elting Jones, 78, of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Born on September 19, 1943, Peggy was a daughter of the late Ralph Edward Perry and the late Elizabeth Fischer Perry. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John M. Perry, and her daughter, Patricia Laurel Elting.

Peggy is survived by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Fincher; her nephew, Bryan Martin; her nieces, Brittany Martin and Lauren Greenly; and other relatives and many friends.

Peggy graduated from E.C. Glass High School and East Carolina University. She joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. She left the Air Force at the rank of Captain. She then entered the work force as a personnel manager for many large companies. She then decided for a change and worked for Del Webb, Inc. as a contract manager until she retired.

Peggy was active in her church until she could no longer attend due to health reasons. She was loved by many friends and family and had a great sense of humor.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park. A Celebration of Peggy's Life will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m. with Rev. M. Anghaarad Teague Dees officiating. The family will receive friends following the Celebration of Life service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Disabled American Veterans.
