Rosalind Smith, age 86, passed away peacefully at her Forked River, NJ home on November 3, 2021 surrounded by members of her loving family.

She was born June 5, 1935 in New York City to Thomas and Florence Fuller. She married her first love Alfred R. Smith, Jr. on October 25, 1952 who proceeded her in death in 2007.

Rosalind "Ros" loved spending time with the many members of her large family, especially the 9 great-grandchildren. One of her hobbies was knitting and every child received a personalized handmade blanket at their birth – many still in use today. And the children loved being around her, especially on holidays or on their way to vacation at the Jersey Shore.

Once Rosalind's three children were well along in New Milford, NJ's grammar school, she was bored around the house and took to driving a big, yellow school bus – the first female driver in Bergen County. Whether it was daily trips to the high school or a Saturday football game with the team, Rosalind was a natural behind the wheel. She eventually gave that up and retired to Forked River with Alfred. There they enjoyed their golden years spending social time with friends, attending church at Saint Pius X and traveling to the Caribbean, Hawaii and Europe.

Rosalind is survived by her two daughters, a son and their spouses: Deborah and Anthony Como, Gary and Teresa Smith and Sandra Smith; grandchildren Steven Como, Robert Como, Douglas Smith, Michael Smith, Brian Dunnkosky and Jennifer Dunnkosky; plus 9 great- grandchildren.

Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 9:00 am – 10:30 am followed by an 11:00 am mass at Church of Saint Pius X. A blessing will be offered at 12:30 pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown NJ.
