Bruce was born August 11, 1948, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Robert E. and Ivy V. Loy Foster.
On September 3, 1977, he married his wife of 44 years, Robyn.
Bruce was a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School and lifelong member of New Hope Christian Church. He retired from Cummins Engine Company after 35 years. Mr. Foster is also a Vietnam Veteran and was a part of the C119 Air Force Reserve Unit at Bakalar Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged in 1969. Bruce was a long-time volunteer for New Hope Christian Church and a 15 year volunteer for Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. He enjoyed auto racing, IU basketball, squirrel hunting, arrowhead hunting and taking his 1957 Chevy to car shows.
Survivors include his wife, Robyn; daughter, Melanie (Daniel) Randolph of Evansville; brother, Paul (Lana) Foster of Greenwood and sister, Deanna (Harold) Baumer of Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sarah Foster.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor John Sichting officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at New Hope Christian Church Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
