Stephen Hollis Bryant, 72, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on September 20, 2021.He was born in Fayetteville, AR on January 19, 1949 to Gus H. and Melba Bryant. He grew up in Green Forest, AR, graduating from Green Forest High School in 1967.
Stephen enlisted in the US Navy in December,1967 and proudly served on the USS Forrestal and the USS John F. Kennedy Mediterranean Cruises. He left the Navy in 1977 with the rank of Aviation Fire Control Technician, PO First Class.
Following his service in the Navy, Stephen chose to live in Jacksonville, FL, a city he loved. He was highly respected as a lead diesel mechanic of heavy machinery for his abilities to keep equipment ready for the task at hand. Stephen was a member of American Legion Post 0137 in Jacksonville and a licensed Amateur Radio operator.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Gus H. and Melba Bryant and his wife, Beverly Bryant. He will be remembered by his family and friends.
Services will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR on November 19, 2021 at 12:30 P.M. Military honors will be provided by a Navy Honor Guard and the VFW Post 3031 of Rogers, AR.
