Florence V. Moore, age 87, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on November 7, 2021.

Affectionately known as "Baby" to her siblings, Florence was born November 6, 1936 to Robert Vaughn Sr. and Frances (Coleman) Vaughn in Centralia , IL, where both parents migrated to separately from the south as youths. She was the middle child of 6 siblings.

After graduating from Centralia High School, Florence followed her sister Virginia and brothers by migrating to Indianapolis, IN. In that city, she found employment at the United States army finance center at Fort Benjamin Harrison. There she eventually met the love of her life, Sylvester Charles Moore.

Florence and Sylvester were united in Holy Matrimony on July 18, 1959 in Indianapolis. Early in the marriage they were blessed to purchase their own home on Baltimore Avenue, Indianapolis.

After several years of marriage, on January 15, 1963 they welcomed a daughter, Terri Lynn into the world. The family loved an active church life, traveled often to see extended family and friends, and hosted many events and activities in their home, but the family's greatest passion became bowling. Florence, Slyvester and Terri all soon became accomplished bowlers. Joining leagues and collecting numerous trophies over the years.

Even with the great loss of their beloved Terri on October 29, 2004, the Moore's great joy in life was their grandson Tremayne and his son Tremayne Jr Florence like most of the Vaughn family, was quiet but focused, completing with excellence anything she set her heart ro. For her, family was everything. throughout her life she was "the glue" that made sure that the scattered Vaughn clan stayed connected.

Florence Vaughn Moore departed this life November 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sylvester Moore; beloved daughter, Terri Lynn (Daniel) Sheldon; brothers, Robert Vaugh jr., and Jerome Vaughn; sisters, Rosie Virginia Vaughn, Joan Vaughn-Walker and Carolyn Vaughn; and precious cousin and confidant, Gloria Dean Jones.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her grandson, Tremayne Shelton , Sr. great grandson Tremayne Shelton jr., three nieces, Rosalind Vaugh-Nichol, Caroline (Ric) Thomas, and Francis Wlaker; two nephews, Robert (Sherrie) Jackson and Hoyt Walker; one great niece Angelica Walker; and four great nephews, Brandon Walker, Jerome Jackson, Jerick Jackson and Kaiden Jackson; and dear cousins and their families who helped care for Florence in her last years, and a host of other family members and friends in both Indianapolis and Centralia.

On Tuesday November 16, 2021 there will be a celebration of life service at 1 pm, with visitation from 11 am until time of service, at Stuart Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
