Derrick Lee Adams, age 33 of Shelbyville, passed from this life Friday, September 17, 2021 at Vanderbilt-Bedford Hospital.

Born May 31, 1988 in Bedford County, he was the son of Terry Lynn Adams and Cynthia Marie Leverette. He was preceded in death by his grandparents John Adams, R.C. & Lucille King Leverette; and his brother, Robert "Robbie" Adams.

Derrick was a graduate of Community High School class of 2006 and has been working with Radiation Protection Product Inc. of Chapel Hill for the past several years. He was a "good ole boy" always willing to help a friend in need. He enjoyed: hunting, fishing; anything outdoors, relaxing on the couch watching movies, and working of vehicles.

Along with his parents he is survived by: loving partner of 3 years, Brenna Leanne Evans; step-son, Aidan Leverette; grandmother, Bell Trivett; step-mother, Mary Ann Pate Adams; half-sister, Shelley Porch; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Steven Leathers officiating. Burial will follow at Cothran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
