Kevin Paul Davis 51, of Virginia Beach, passed away on October 25, 2021, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Kevin was born November 8, 1969 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ola-Whicker Jones and William Davis.
Kevin joined the US Navy in 1990 and served his country through 1994. During his time in the Navy, Kevin became a Veteran of the Gulf War. He was an AIC ( air Intercept controller) with his primary specialty being an Operations Specialist. Kevin received several Sea Service Deployment Ribbons during his enlistment. After leaving the Navy, Kevin made his career within the IT community and up until a few months prior to his passing was employed by the US Government under the Department of Defense. Kevin had a bachelor's degree from Western Governor's University along with many professional designations such as CISSP, ITIL Expert, Linux Plus, MCSE, and an SSIP.
Kevin had several passions. Cooking, gardening, his beloved New England Patriots, and coaching his daughter Katie in every sport she played. From Basketball at Star of the Sea Catholic School, to baseball and softball at the local little league, and tennis at Catholic High School, and finally helped Katie achieve her goal of becoming a collegiate golfer. Coaching was one of the things that Kevin loved to do. When his co-workers would talk about their children growing up and say I don't know where the time went, Kevin would respond and say "I do". "I was at every practice, every game, and every tournament. I was there for her". He had no regrets about her getting older because he was with his daughter every step of the way.
Kevin is survived by Sherry (wife), his daughters Katie Davis, Amber Demaray and son Mike Demaray( Liz), and grandsons Owen and Roman. Kevin is also survived by a loving mother Ola Whicker Jones ( Steven), a sister Lisa F Conley (Jeff), and Uncle William Whicker, and several aunts and cousins. Kevin also leaves behind his beloved dog, Blue in the loving care of his daughter Katie.
Kevin's life will be celebrated on November 13, 2021, at 11 am at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home and Crematory on North Great Neck Road.
