Grover Youth Called By Death
A pall of gloom was cast over the residents of the valley and especially the Grover ward when it was announced last Sunday morning that Louis Anderson had passed away.
Mr. Anderson was the son of David Anderson and Alice Cranshaw Anderson of Grover. He was in excellent health on Sunday, May 13 but on Monday he was taken with an acute attack of appendicitis. It was found necessary to operate at once and he was operated on Monday night. It was found that the appendix was ruptured, and every precaution was taken to prevent complications. He was apparently on the road to recovery until the Saturday following when he started to develop signs of peritonitis and he passed away about 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Louis was born April 24, 1907 and had just passed his 22nd birthday. He had been two years in high school. He is survived by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Services were held in Grover last Tuesday.
Opening prayer was offered by Calvin Van Leuven.
The speakers were D.E. Hepworth, Joseph N. Anderson, John E. Hepworth, Bishop Ray S, Thurman, and Frank P. Cranney of Auburn.
Ernest Turner very beautifully rendered the solo "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose". He was accompanied by Melba Kennington on the violin and Maurine Michealson on the piano.
Benediction was pronounced by M.L. Bee.
All the speakers paid high tribute to the good qualities and sterling character of Louis, who was taken just in the prime of life.
May beautiful flowers including cut flowers from the basket ball team to which he belonged, and also from the primary of which Mrs. Anderson was president.
