Carolyn "Carrie" Joyce Scott, 70, passed away on October 27, 2021. She was born April 8, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio, to Lute and Louise Williford.
She was a graduate of Robert S. Rogers High School and earned a degree in Business Administration at Stautzenberger College and went on to study business law and dispute resolution and mediation at the University of Toledo.
Carrie recently celebrated 28 years of marriage this past February to her love Michael W. Scott. She loved being with her family, traveling, and collecting treasures she would find for herself and others. She took pride in her home and enjoyed hosting friends and family from all over the country.
She was a huge advocate for learning and enjoyed challenging herself with new adventures. She successfully completed her real estate certification just this year and spent time professionally doing property management.
Carrie's first love was the Lord. She was a member of New Life Church-Kempsville Campus and loved participating with her friends in Life Groups and with her Encore travel friends.
She touched many lives with her love of Christ. She was determined to encourage, help, and uplift those in her life. She also enjoyed creating beauty through her artistic talents, garden tending, and decorating. Additionally, Carrie had a zest for life and loved dancing, singing, and "bebopping" around. She brought much joy to those around her. She was a special soul and a loving matriarch that lived a testimony for God and leaves behind a legacy. She will be greatly missed.
Carolyn was proceeded in death by her parents Lute and Ella Louise Williford and her brother's Robert Williford, David Williford, and Douglas Kelting.
She is survived by her husband Michael W. Scott of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sisters Kay L. Bechtel of Maumee, Ohio and Sheryl A. Norman of Mims, Florida. She also leaves behind her beloved children James (Jennifer) Lowry of High Ridge, Missouri, Kenneth (RoseMae) Lowry of Chesapeake, Virginia, Tamarha (Troy) Haynes of Chesapeake, Virginia, Elizabeth Schuler of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Teresa Scott of Toledo, Ohio; 16 beautiful grandchildren and 12 precious great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
