Ruth Isabel Phillips, age 90, of Vienna, VA passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, November 8, 2021. Ruth was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 26th, 1931 to William and Isabella Girnis. Ruth worked for the Central Intelligence Agency and retired after a successful 27 year career. Ruth was the devoted wife of the late William D. Phillips.
She is survived by her children Cynthia Malecki, Laura Hess, Bill Phillips, David Phillips, Susan North and Tim Phillips. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ruth was also the mother to the late Bill Malecki, grandmother to the late 1LT Robert J. Hess, and great grandmother to the late Everett Hess.

A Catholic Mass will be held to honor the life of Ruth Phillips at 11am on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 8601 Wolftrap Road, Vienna, VA.
Ruth's final resting place will be with her late husband Bill at the Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA.
