Robert E. "Bob" Brandyberry, 76 of Lafayette died unexpectedly at 6:43 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, in Home Hospital.

Born on April 28, 1927, in Fort Wayne, he graduated from Ossian High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.

He married Patricia Lou Yager on June 18, 1949 in Ossian. She survives.

Mr. Brandyberry was in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific theater. He had worked as an engineer for Landis & Gyr for 19 years, retiring in 1987

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.

Surviving with his wife are a son, Mark A. Brandyberry (wife: Ann) of West Lafayette; a daughter, Susan Brandyberry Wilson (husband:Todd) of Claredon Hills, Ill.; a sister, Barbara Wilburn (husband: Dale) of Huntington; and three brothers, David Brandyberry (wife: Maxine) of Fort Waybe, Thomas Somers (wife: Marilyn) of Ossian, and Howard Somers (wife: Elsie) of Florida. Also surviving include twin grandsons and a granddaughter.
